The Source of StoryTelling's Power
StoryTelling fulfills a function that cannot be fulfilled in any other way...Learning through StoryTelling enables students to "walk a mile in the shoes" of historical figures they are studying, to ask "What if?" about the events they are studying and to understand the human component to historical events.
StoryTelling enables teachers to reach the wide variety of learners in classrooms every day, taking advantage of student interests and skills while respecting individual differences. StoryTelling makes learning personal and meaningful, fosters communications between and among students and teachers, and facilitates learning about other cultures. StoryTelling is an ideal strategy for use in social studies and humanities classrooms because of its ability to transmit information in an involving and entertaining way.
