Calvin G. Sims, Sr. has lived an extraordinary life. He draws on that life to inspire others. For that reason, he is uniquely qualified to inspire any audience.
Abandoned as a child and left to virtually fend for himself in an abusive foster home where he was beaten, molested and neglected - Calvin was introduced to crime and gangs. The house he grew up in was the equivalent to a modern day crack house. Living in "Vine City Bottom," one of the most crime riddled, violent neighborhoods in 1950's Atlanta, he was given his first gun at age 9. At 16, in order to escape what he thought would surely be his demise, Calvin dropped out of school and joined the Marine Corp.

What followed is a true American story and the primary source of Calvin's unique ability to relate to anyone who has set difficult goals or faces seemingly insurmountable adversity.
Calvin often says that he not only survived in spite of his tragic origin, but that he succeeded and prospered because of it.
His love for reading about American Heroes (especially cowboys) taught him valuable character lessons. It was his adoption of their character traits - their boundless work ethic; their fierce determination; their self acceptance and confidence and more - are all personal assets he attributes to the heroes he read about - often while hiding in a tree, outside his dilapidated foster home.
Calvin is able to inspire any audience with the story of his life and the subsequent attitude he developed that empowered him to achieve. In fact, Calvin Sims is often referred to as "The Over-Achiever."
And it is Over-achievement that he inspires and teaches.
You will never regret or forget the day that you invited this powerful speaker to inspire and motivate your group or organization.
